And it begins...

Hello family and friends!

I'm extremely excited to say that I am finally walking in real shoes, meaning I will be leaving for Zambia as scheduled. I'm flying out of BWI on August 9th and besides a brief stint home in November, I won't be back until next summer. I want to thank each and every one of you for your support and encouragement throughout the past months as I've been fundraising, dealing with my foot and preparing for my work for FORGE. I am thrilled to be working for such a great organization - please check out the FORGE website (there's a link for FORGE on the right side of this blog) or send me an email if you have any questions about my work and/or about FORGE.

I will do my best over the next year to keep this blog up to date. I am planning to have internet capabilities about once a month, but I'm hoping that I can update this more often than that. My mailing address is on the right side - letters will take about 2-3 weeks and packages can take up to about 2 months to get to me. If you want to know exactly where I'll be, check out the map at the bottom of the page. I will be adding my Zambian cell number (I might be able to receive text messages!) and other contact information when I get it. Hope to hear from you soon!
