While in Livingstone, we stayed in the best hostel I’ve ever seen. It was called Jollyboys with clean rooms, beds and bathrooms, it’s own pool, a bar, an internet cafĂ© and a lounge with tons of pillows. The morning after the booze cruise, Emily, John, Daniel, Elizabeth and I went on a safari in Botswana! Before the safari started, we had to cross the border into Botswana, and at the border you can see 4 countries at one time – Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe. The picture is of all of us with one foot in Botswana and one in Zimbabwe.
The safari was absolutely amazing. It started with a filling breakfast that included dairy products and then we got into a big truck to take us into Chobe National Park. We weren’t expecting to see too much, but we were pleasantly surprised when we were surrounded by animals the whole time we were in the park. The first half of the safari was on land where we saw lions, giraffes, kudus, “Zazu” birds, hippos, monkeys, zebras, elephants, warthogs, bulls and many others that I can’t remember the names of. The park was beautiful and what I was most impressed by was how peaceful the animals were and how harmoniously they lived together (clichĂ©, I know).
