Dear Friends & Family,
I hope this message finds you well and healthy. It's hard to believe
that I am already halfway through my time in Zambia. Today, I'm
blogging (is that a word?) you with a request for a favor. Everyday I
work with refugees who fled civil conflict in the Democratic Republic
of Congo, and everyday I get to see the talents and potential of the
refugees I'm working with in action. I also get to see how beneficial
our projects are not only for the everyday lives of the people living
in my community, but for the future impact these individuals will have
on their country when they return home to rebuild.
Now FORGE has the opportunity to win $50,000 if enough people can give
$10 through a fundraising challenge that is being sponsored through
the Network for Good by the Chase Foundation. We are in the running
for the top award, and need as many votes as possible to win. The
best way to participate is by donating before January 31st through
FORGE's "widget" right on our website's homepage: www.forgenow.org
The competition ends at the end of January, so the sooner you can
donate and encourage others to donate as well, the better. If you
can, please pass this message on to other people who would like to
support FORGE's work. I ask because $50,000 would make a tremendous
difference in FORGE's ability to impact war-torn communities by
investing in individuals.
